THE UTILIZATION OF INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) TECHNOLOGY IN AGRICULTURE

The agricultural sector plays a vital role in meeting global food demands. However, traditional farming methods which that rely on manual labor, present challenges to improving agricultural productivity and efficiency. This paper explores the implementation of Internet of Things (Io T) technology in agriculture to address these issues. IoT-based solutions, such as smart irrigation systems, soil fertility detection tools, auotomated watering mechanisms, and pest control systems, have proven effective in increasing efficiency, productivity, and accuracy in farming operations. These systems leverage real-time monitoring, adaptive decision-making, and process automation, significantly reducing depedency on less efficient manual methods. The research employ a literature review methodology, syntheizing insight from scholarly articles published between 2012 to 2022. The findings demonstrate the transformative potential of IoT in modern agriculture, highlighting key innoavations like Fuzzy Tsukamoto-based irrigation, MQTT protocol for environmental monitoring, and automated soil fertility assesments. This study contributes to advancing IoT applications in agriculture and offers practical solutions for modernizing the sector to enhance yield quality and efficiency
