IMPLEMENTATION OF USER-CENTERED DESIGN: IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF UI/UX OF THE INDONESIAN DEVELOPMENT VOCATIONAL SCHOOL PROFILE WEBSITE

Abstract

This research aims to design a web-based information system for the profile of SMK Pembangunan Indonesia using the CodeIgniter 3 framework. The system is expected to meet the school's needs in delivering information efficiently, in real-time, and in a structured manner to students, parents, and the wider community. Previously, information was conveyed through printed media such as brochures and banners, which had limitations in terms of reach and speed. The method used in this research is the Software Development Life Cycle, which includes stages of requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The design results include key features such as an informative homepage, school profile, data on students and teachers, announcements, activity agendas, photo galleries, teaching materials, and a contact page. Additionally, there is an admin page to facilitate content management. A responsive design is applied to ensure optimal access across various devices, providing a comfortable and informative user experience. With this design, the school can enhance the quality of educational services and expand information reach while utilizing digital technology for better interaction with the community.

This design not only supports school promotion but also serves as a strategic step in supporting digital transformation in the education sector. Thus, this system is expected to provide more optimal services for all stakeholders.
